When hovering over the error message, you’ll see one of the following explanations:
1. "This asset cannot be listed because it’s frozen."
This means the token or collection is frozen, preventing token transfers. Freezing is often used by token creators to temporarily or permanently lock assets for a variety of reasons, such as maintaining integrity, compliance, or pausing trading activities.
2. "This item cannot be listed because token listings are forbidden."
This indicates the token or collection is configured with a listing restriction. This prevents any marketplace listings and is typically enforced to support the creator's intended use case, such as exclusive access or restricting secondary market trading.
Why Do These Restrictions Exist?
Both "frozen" and "listing forbidden" states reflect decisions made by the token creator to control the token’s behavior. These settings are part of the token’s configuration at the protocol level and cannot be overridden by marketplaces or other third parties.
Can This Be Resolved?
- Frozen Tokens/Collections: The collection owner must unfreeze the asset to lift this restriction.
