Types of Tokens on NFT.io
Users are able to create 2 types of assets on NFT.io - Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) and Fungible Tokens (FT).
In this guide, we'll describe the difference of these assets and how we can distinguish them from each other.
Non Fungible Token (NFT)
Non Fungible Tokens are unique cryptographic assets, which has its own ID, and cannot be replicated. NFTs can look alike but can be distinguished by a unique identifier and they are not interchangeable. NFTs can represent digital and real world assets such as photos, art, game items, tickets, and so on.
NFTs are created using the process called minting.
With NFT.io, anyone can mint NFTs with ease. These assets are tokenized on the Enjin Blockchain.
Fungible Token (FT)
Fungibility describes the interchangeability of goods. Fungible tokens are similar to NFTs but the big differences are these assets are interchangeable and share the same ID. Users cannot distinguish the difference of these assets that come from the same set since the image, metadata, and ID are all the same. FTs can represent interchangeable assets such as in-game potions, currency, points, etc.
